Erik Jensen is one of the few Vancouverites who has spent his entire life in this beautiful city. In fact, he has called the North Shore home for over 95% of his life. His journey into construction started early, helping his dad in the workshop and assisting tradespeople working on the family house. This passion was reignited during his time volunteering at Camp Artaban, where he helped construct an outbuilding for campers, providing flushing toilets instead of pit toilets. He vividly recalls sitting on the porch of Summerville House, lacing up his workboots, and thinking, “Hey, I really love this stuff!”
After earning a Bachelor of Computer Science Degree, Erik decided to leave his office job managing a local IT firm to pursue his true passion for construction in 2006, a decision wholeheartedly supported by his loving and extremely supportive wife, Lianne. He quickly advanced from a laborer to journeyman in under two years due to his excellent visual learning and problem-solving skills.
Sprucehill was incorporated in 2006, but Erik truly dedicated himself to building the company in January 2009. His mission was to make Sprucehill Contracting the best custom home builder and renovation company on the North Shore. Today, Erik leverages the problem-solving and technology skills he honed in university to ensure Sprucehill operates efficiently and is well-organized.
